MathematiCUSE Team
Let us do the work of finding a great math tutor for you! All tutors must pass a math assessment, an interview, a background check and a tutoring audition. This ensures our tutors are experts in K-12 mathematics, and that they can relate well to students. In the tutoring audition we observe each candidate as they work with a student for a trial tutoring session.
Jennifer Snyder is the founder of MathematiCUSE. She is experienced in both teaching math in the classroom and tutoring privately. She holds a New York State teaching certification in secondary mathematics. She graduated summa cum laude from Syracuse University with a B.S. in Mathematics and holds a Master's degree in Math Education from New York University. After graduating from SU, she was accepted into Math for America, a very competitive teaching fellowship program that aims to improve mathematics education in cities across the US. Through this program, she was given the opportunity to teach middle school math in New York City. After her time in the Big Apple, she returned to central New York, where she continued working with math students by tutoring privately.
Jennifer opened MathematiCUSE in 2018 because she wanted to create a community where people can come together to learn and do math. She has always been a "math geek" and has enjoyed being a part of a math community, both as a student and teacher. From SU's mathematics department to Math for America's cohort of exceptional teachers, a strong math community has played an important role in her education and career. She wanted to bring this type of community to the public, a place where people enjoy coming to do math in a supportive environment. She hopes to increase students' confidence in math and allow them to enjoy it outside of the traditional classroom experience.

Dr. Beverly tutors in English, Reading, Writing, and French for all ages; math for younger students; and SAT prep classes. She holds a doctorate in education and spent much of her career overseas in international schools in England, France, Germany, Zambia, Cameroon, and India. She brings this wealth of intercultural and diverse experience to her tutoring. She is bilingual in French and English. Zoom tutoring may also be available.
Jeffrey Procopio tutors in Mathematics and Physics. He graduated from Fayetteville-Manlius High School in 1989, and went on to study Mathematics at Buffalo State College and Syracuse University. In 1998, Jeffrey was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics (Magna Cum Laude), and, shortly thereafter, he began teaching at Mohawk Valley Community College.
Jeffrey has completed more than sixty hours of graduate study in Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics, at the University at Albany and S.U.N.Y. Polytechnic Institute. He has taught courses at Colgate University, S.U.N.Y. Polytechnic Institute, Utica College (now Utica University), and, most recently, at Hamilton College. He is certified to teach in New York State and has taught at both the middle school level and the high school level.
Jeffrey has a passion for learning as well as teaching.
Alyssa Stahrr is currently a Science Teacher in the Phoenix Central School District. She has taught Living Environment, Computer Science Principles, and Test Prep Science. She holds a New York State Teaching Certification for Biology and a Project Lead The Way Certification for Computer Science Principles. Prior to working in Phoenix, she was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Tanzania, East Africa where she taught Biology and Chemistry. Alyssa graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from St. Lawrence University and a Master’s degree in Biology Education from Syracuse University. In her free time she goes rock climbing or trains for half marathons.
Hannah MacIntosh is currently a Special Education teacher at Bridgeport Elementary. She graduated from Cazenovia College with a certification in Birth-Second Grade Inclusive Education. She graduates from Le Moyne College with a master’s degree in special education 1-6 in Summer 2023. She teaches reading, writing and mathematics to elementary students of various ages and skill levels. She is trained in the Sonday System and LTRS. Hannah teaches in a variety of 1:1 and group settings. When not teaching, she enjoys reading, writing, taking nature walks and spending time with loved ones.
